Dr Peter Dobie MBBS works in the field of integrative medicine.  He has a particular interest in complex and chronic illness, chronic fatigue, anti-ageing medicine, nutritional medicine, mould illness and allergy.

For three years Dr Dobie was co-director of an allergy clinic at a Sydney private hospital.  He spent several years doing locums in rural NSW and is skilled in emergency medicine.

Dr Dobie’s emphasis is very much on the promotion of wellness.  He takes a thorough and holistic approach to treating chronic illness, as well as providing preventive medical care.  He incorporates into his practice advances in biochemistry, endocrinology and clinical nutrition, and prefers to prescribe non-drug treatments wherever possible.

Mould illness is an illness that some people develop after exposure to mould, such as in a water-damaged building.  Mould illness is also known as Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS).

Anti-ageing medicine is a new medical discipline devoted to the early detection, prevention and treatment of the diseases related to ageing; it is a new approach to preventive medicine.  The aim is to maintain optimal function and vitality as people grow older and prevent, or delay the onset of, the degenerative diseases usually associated with old age.  Dr Dobie has studied anti-ageing medicine in the United States.

Fernanda Cavalari B.H.Sc. (TCM) – UTS Sydney, CHt

Fernanda Cavalari is a Hypnotherapist, Counsellor and Chinese Medicine Practitioner (Acupuncturist and Herbalist), member of the International Medical and Dental Hypnotherapy Association – IMDHA, USA.

Her approach to treatment includes examining and modifying lifestyle factors through hypnosis, acupuncture and counselling with the aim to resolve the causes of your health and emotional challenges.

Fernanda has worked extensively with hypnosis and has found it to be a very effective therapy in assisting the body in healing itself from dis-ease, stress, anxiety, aches and pains, and a myriad of imbalances in the body and mind.

Your unconscious mind holds the patterns, which cause your issues – but also holds the solutions that you are looking for. Hypnotherapy is about tapping into your internal resources to free yourself from the past, resolve problems and challenges and find solutions for what you are struggling with.

Hypnosis works directly with the subconscious mind. Acupuncture affects the parasympathetic nervous system. Counselling complements both hypnosis and acupuncture to achieve very powerful healing outcomes.

Sylvia Tarchalska Certified MINDD/Functional Medicine Health Coach (FMCHC), Bachelor of Commerce

Sylvia Tarchalska is a certified MINDD/ Functional Medicine Health Coach. Her mission is to help clients and their families feel better and whole again – back to what a good life looks like for the patient. She works as part of the team of practitioners at The Grove Health Bondi.

In this role she helps clients facilitate behaviour change by working with them to understand their motivations for change and co-create a realistic goal-based plan to implement the Doctors recommended protocol.

Depending on where the client is at, this can involve motivational interviewing, character strength analysis, protocol translation and targeting lifestyle modification including sleep, stress response, hydration, physical activity and shopping habits.  This process aims to achieve lasting positive change for clients, by helping them realign values and behaviours.

As they journey toward better health, Sylvia aims to guide, support, nurture and empower patients to discover the “why” part of the need for changes and then the “how”.

Sylvia’s journey to becoming a Health Coach began after the birth of her first child in 2009. Having worked in the finance industry at Merrill Lynch/BofA as a portfolio trader for 16 years in Australia and Hong Kong, she faced a raft of chronic health issues that needed to be understood and addressed.  This led her initially to the works of Weston a Price and in more recent years to retrain as a functional medicine health coach to take back control of her own health. She works every Tuesday in the clinic but is available most days with notice.

Areas of interest
  • Executive health
  • Parents health

  • Interpreting protocols

Sylvia’s hours are Tuesday 9:00am to 5:00pm.

Consultations are by appointment only. Please call our receptionist between 9:00am and 5:00pm to make an appointment.
